First Exam Passed, It Seems

Just received the message that I passed the first of my law school exams: Legal Methods.

My enthusiasm for this is tempered only by the fact that it was a pass/fail exam. It seems that a few people may not have passed, but I was rooting for them anyway: by my (admittedly limited) understanding of the mathematics involved, a 100% pass rate would have meant we all scored at the top of our class. (It would also mean we all scored at the bottom, but why be negative.)

Anyone wondering why my 'logic' is not up to its usual level today should realize that I'm struggling with the onset of a head cold, and the only three brain cells that aren't screaming, 'Why now?' in an obsessive mantra are busy concentrating on Civ Pro.

Ah, you have the cold too? I think we're always sick at the same time. Go to Duane Reade and buy Zicam. They have some just at the bottom of the stairs, and it's on sale. Use it - you'll thank me. I started to get sick on Wednesday, and I'm already starting to feel better. I've looked at the clinical data, and it's quite good...
Congrats on Legal Methods exam. Hopefully that means that you go into the other, "real" ;-) exams at the end of the semester feeling less anxious. In my experience, head colds during law school were best dealt with by cutting class and staying in bed for the first day after symptoms hit. However, probably not good advice to take if you're at all ambitious, since I did graduate in that half of my class which made the top half possible. On the other hand, the colds I had during my time in law school were the easiest to live through of any in my life before or since. Considering how my legal career panned out, I'd say the choice I made in law school was the right one. :-) Get well soon.
