Placing stuff on the net
Thanks to http://www.jd2b.com for linking me from the site. From that came one friendly and two unfriendly comments, but then, you start blogging and that's the risk.
Almost everyone seems to be advising relaxing for the summer and not worrying about law school, so I figure other than the general reading I'm doing I'll stick to translation and leave it at that.

Welcome to the blogosphere, Anthony. You'll like it here (as long as the comments stay mostly friendly -- I haven't had a problem with that (yet)).
Yes, relax. No need to be "reading up" on law school subjects (unless you're into that). I doubt it will prove helpful. Buy a bottle of wine and invite a girl over to watch "Legally Blonde" -- that's about as legal as you need to get this summer.

You have the best law student URL I've seen yet. And that's despite the fact that I like law school most of the time.
Ignore the snarky comments. This is your web page and you can write whatever you please (until your professors and classmates start reading).
Also, I'll second what Scott said... this is a good time to focus on non-legal things. After all, you have three years of hell for reading cases and the like.

Law school should be put off until you've already done all the reading. This is why law schools should actively recruit autodidacts over 30. In fact the quality of all of higher education could be revolutionized by doing this.

Best of luck! I look forward to checking in and seeing how things are going. I'm soon to embark on the same path and it will be interesting to read your take on things during your first year.

Why "the devil"? Being a lawyer isn't evil. It's abusing your authority that brings you over to the Dark Side.

Hi, Bruce:
It came from a conversation that went:
'Hmm... well, I've been told it'll be three years of hell.'
'Well, yeah--but then you get to become the devil.'
I liked the phrase and then it stuck. Being a lawyer isn't evil--if I thought it were, I wouldn't do it. But it is funny. :)
